Stop 01 Volubilis

Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive Roman ruins in Morocco. It is located just one hour from Fes and 40 minutes from Meknes. The site is divided into public and private buildings, and you will have a good informative guide to explain about all the excavated places, such as mosaics, arches, temples, gates, and so on.

Volubilis was founded in the 3rd century BC by the Romans and became the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania. It was a prosperous city with a population of over 20,000 people. The city was destroyed in the 8th century AD, but the ruins are still well-preserved and offer a fascinating glimpse into Roman life in North Africa.

A day trip to Volubilis from Fes is a great way to see one of Morocco’s most important historical sites. You will learn about the city’s history, see its impressive ruins, and experience Moroccan culture firsthand.

Stop 02 Meknes

After visiting Volubilis, you will drive to Meknes, Morocco’s imperial city. Meknes was founded in the 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail and was the capital of Morocco for a time. The city is known for its huge walls, the main gate of Bab Mansour, the Mausoleum of the Sultan, and the medina.

You will have the opportunity to see these impressive sights and learn about the city’s history from your guide. You will also have time to explore the medina, which is a maze of narrow streets and shops.

A visit to Meknes is a great way to experience Morocco’s rich history and culture. You will be amazed by the city’s size and grandeur, and you will learn about the life of Sultan Moulay Ismail, one of Morocco’s most powerful rulers.
