The 4 days’ trip from Marrakech to Sahara is a good itinerary plan to escape from the bustling life of Marrakech and embrace the amazing natural landscapes of the Southern Morocco. You get to see the Atlas Mountains, Gorges, kasbah, valleys and spend a night to treasure in the Sahara desert.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Marrakech – Tizi n Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Pick up and departure from your Riad/Hotel around 09h00. We drive to Ouarzazate via high Atlas Mountains. In the itinerary we include several stops for panoramic pictures and enchanting views of Berber villages. The road will lead us through twisty curves and green Moroccan Cactus fruit. We visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is declared a world heritage patrimony by the UNESCO, and which offered the nicest scenes for more than twenty movies such as the Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and much more.

Travel to Ouarzazate. Visit Atlas Studio for cinema. Check into the hotel.

Day 02 Ouarzazate – Agdez – Alnif – Merzouga–Erg Chebbi

After breakfast at the hotel you’ll be departing to Merzouga desert called Erg Chebb. Transfer to Agdez along the the anti-Atlas Mountains.

Join the Draa valley with its date palm trees with a stop for panoramic pictures.

The journey will take you via the towns of Nekoub and Tazarine with a stop for lunch.

Transfer to Merzouga from where you’ll change the 4×4 with friendly camels. The camel trek start 1h30 before sunset allowing to grab good photos and enjoy an ocean of sandy dunes called Erg Chebbi.

Arrive to the camp with a welcoming tea and check into your tent. Dinner and time for some local music, then start gazing! Amazing view of stars at night! Have a peaceful night.

Day 03 Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Todra gorges – Dades valley

Good moring from Sahara! Wake up for sunrise pictures. Optional! And take breakfast. Later on, Travel via Erfoud to the town of Tinghir.

In Tinghir we drive to Todgha Gorges. It’s the highest cliffs in the southern Morocco and a good place for experienced mountaineers. We walk between the gorges where the river of Todgha flows to irrigate the palm groves and the farmers’ plantations. After some fresh walk in Todgha gorges we head the valley of Dades.

We pass the town of Boumalne to join the ncice valley of Dades. It is a green valley with many trees inside a semi desert area.

Enjoy the rock formation and conrasts. Check into the hotel in Dades valley.

Day 04 Dades valley-Skoura-Tizi N tichka– Marrakech

Breakfast and check out from the hotel. We drive back along the valley of Dades to the town of Boumalne to join the main road to Ouarzazate. The road in this part of Morocco is called the road of thousand Kasbah.

With a stop in Kalaa Mgouna or the town of roses where rose water is extracted by farmers, we head to the oasis of Skoura.

After visiting Amredil Kasbah, we countinue via Ouarzazate and enjoying the vigh of the high Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech. Drop of at your hotel. End of our services.
