Morocco itinerary 8 days: Historical & Desert Tour
Tour from Fes: Fes, Marrakech and the majestic South
Day1: Fes airport-hotel in Fes
Meet at Fes airport and transfer to the hotel. Rest at the hotel the rest of the day.
Day2: Fes sightseeing Tour
Fez or Fes is the first Moroccan imperial city. It holds a wealth of attractions and described as the spiritual centre of Morocco. The Karaouiyin University of Fez is considered among the oldest in the world. Hiring a local guide in Fez is essential to have a complete visit. You start the journey with a visit of royal palace and the ceramics and poetry looking at hand made artefacts. You move with your guide to explore the the Tanneries and the vibrant alleys of the old quarter. You will admire the bustling streets of the Medina where merchants open their shops. After an active journey we take you back to your hotel
Day3: Fes to Merzouga desert
After breakfast, we depart to Merzouga desert. On the way, we pass El Imouzzer and stop in Azrou cedar forest where we take pictures of the macaque monkeys. We head Midelt for lunch. We keep moving through the High Atlas Mountains and we cross Errachida, Erfoud which is famous for the fossil’s preparation. We drive the rest of the itinerary to Merzouga through Rissani. You will be taken by a camel trek to the camp where you’ll spend the overnight stay. You enjoy local music with the campers and taste fresh local tajine. Enjoy the starry night in the desert and sleep well!
Day4: Merzouga to Ramlia
We depart to the little town of Ramlia. We follow the unpaved road from Taouss crossing dried rivers and rocky plates where fossils and found. We enjoy the scenic desert views and stop to have our picnic lunch under an acacia tree. We reach the little African village of Ramlia where we make a visit to a Berber family and have tea with them. We visit the little oasis of palm trees where people cultivate the vegetables. We meet friendly people from the countryside. Later on, we go to our hotel and spend the overnight stay at a local guesthouse.
Day5: Ramlia to Dades valley
Departure from Ramlia is after breakfast. We drive on the off road to the next town of Fougani from where we join the Asphalt way. We visit some families along the way to the next town Alnif where we have lunch. In the afternoon we continue to the town of Tinghir which famous for the gorges. enjoy the sight and then transfer to Dades valley. Check into the hotel.
Day6: Dades valley to Marrakech
After breakfast, you will be taken along the valley of Dades to the next twon of Kella Mgouna, known for the products from roses: like rosewater..
You’ll be taken along the road called the road of thousand Kasbah stopping to visit of example of these Shelters: Kasbah Amredil. We drive via Ouarzazate and have some lunch on the way.
The afternoon drive take us through the wendy road of the Mountain pass of Tizi Ntichka to reach Marrakech in the early evening.
Day7: Marrakech city tour
The visit consists of a wander in the botanical gardens of Eve Saint Laurent Majorelle, beside other historical sites like the koutoubiaMosque (the twin tower of Giralda in Seville, Spain). The Saadian tombs demonstrate the Moorish architecture in its perfection, The Bahia palace and Madrassa Ibn Youssef. The guide takes you to the restaurant for lunch.
Evening drums will draw you to the Djemaa El Fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. The best thing is to try an orange jus at a reasonable price. Overnight stay is in medina centered guesthouse, a Riad.
Day8: Marrakech hotel to the airport
At the right time, we collect you from the hotel and transfer to Marrakech airport for your flight. Farwell.
