Morocco itinerary 10 days: Coast to Desert
10 days tour from Casablanca-Essaouira-Tangier
Meet and pick up from Casablanca airport. Transfer to downtown. Visit of Hassan 2 mosque, Corniche seaside, city center. Transfer to the hotel.
Day2: Casablanca to Essaouira
After breakfast, transfer to Essaouira. The medina of Essaouira is a world heritage site by the UNESCO. It is hassle free. Shopping is easy as it has everything close to each other.
You can visit the little harbor and the Sqalla. It is a good place to taste fresh sea food.
The weather is cool most of the year with sometimes strong winds coming from the ocean.
Check into the hotel.
Day3: Essaouira- to Marrakech
Spend the morning exploring more of Essaouira. Around 15h, transfer to Marrakech.
Day4: Marrakech city tour
Breakfast at the hotel. Today will be dedicated to explore Marrakech. Historical visit of Marrakech will include Lmnara , a magnificent pool surrounded by flowers. Then our guide take you to visit other impressive sights such as the koutoubia Mosque (the twin tower of Giralda in Seville, Spain), the Saadian tombs which demonstrate the Moorish architecture in its perfection. We also visit the Bahia palace and Madrassa Ibn Youssef. The guide takes you to the restaurant for lunch.
Evening drums will draw you to the Jamaa el Fna (main city square). It’s a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians, and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls on the square sell fresh salads, soups, fried fish and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep’s head. Finish it off with a glass of sweet cinnamon tea..
Day5: Marrakech-Tizi Ntichka-Ait Benhaddou-Valley of Dades
Pick up and departure from your Riad/Hotel around 08h00. We drive to Ouarzazate via the Mountains of the high Atlas. In the itinerary we include several stops for panoramic pictures and enchanting views of Berber villages. We visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou which is declared a world heritage patrimony by the UNESCO, and which offered the nicest scenes for more than twenty movies such as Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia and much more. After lunch, we drive across Ouarzazate to the Roses Valley. Enjoy the view along the Dades valley, and stay in a hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 6: Dades valley-Todgha gorges-Erg Chebbi dunes
The rose’s valley is famous for its annual celebration of the festival of roses and it’s from where we depart to Merzouga sandy dunes. After breakfast, we move on to Tinghir along the Dades Valley. In Tinghir we drive to Todgha Gorges. It’s the highest cliffs in the southern Morocco and a good place for experienced mountaineers. We walk between the gorges where the river of Todgha flows to irrigate the palm groves and the farmers’ plantations. We keep moving across Tinjdad, Erfoud famous for sculpture and fossil preparation. We visit the local market of Rissani and we end up in the hotel nearby Merzouga where you will start the camel trek. Overnight with diner under nomad Berber tent.
Day 7: Erg Chebbi-Fes
Wake up for sunrise lovely pictures, and trek back on camels to the hotel for showers and breakfast. We set off for Fes via Erfoud, Errachidia driving along the ziz palm groves. Transfer to Fes via Midelt with stops along the way for pictures, foods…arrival to Fes around 18h. Drop off at your hotel.
Day8: Fes city Tour
Fes, also spelled Fez is the first Moroccan imperial city. It holds a wealth of attractions and known as the religious & spiritual centre of Morocco. The University of Karaouiyine is the only old operating university since the year of 859. Hiring an informative local guide in Fes is essential to have a complete visit.
The journey will be inaugurated by a visit of royal palace main gate, next into the quarter of natural handmade ceramics and poetry where you experience artifacts. You move with your guide to explore the leather treatment area called the tanneries and the vibrant alleys of Fes el Bali (the old Fes).
The bustling streets of the medina will bring you back to the medieval era. You see artisans and their products from slippers, Jellabas, and jewelry…
After an active journey we drive you back to your hotel.
Day9: Fes to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we travel in the morning to the blue and colorful city of Chefchaouen. Along the way, we stop to take a guided visit of the Roman ruins that are called Volubilis. Later on the route takes us across the Rif Mountains with their enclosed valleys. You reach Chefchouen, and take your time to wander in the blue city: you’ll visit the souk, the Kasbah and meet friendly locals and people from the countryside bringing their staff to sell in the Souk.
Day 10: Chefchaouen to Tangier
Set off for Tangier in the morning. The drive takes around 2 hours.
At the right time, we transfer you to the port or airport of Tangier. Farwell.
